Course summary
The control of substances hazardous to health regulations (COSHH), gives employees a sound understanding of their responsibilities for controlling hazardous substances. This includes understanding the routes of entry into the body, the risk of exposure and likely effects and the principles of control measures.

- The steps involved in completing a COSHH assessment.
- The likely routes of entry into the body.
- How to use a COSHH data sheet to support a risk assessment.
- How to identify chemical, biological and physical hazards in the workplace.
- Understanding hazard symbols.
- The practical use of control measures.
- The correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

This course is suitable for professionals in positions such as; health and safety co-ordinator, heads of department, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, caretakers and site managers.
