On Thursday last week (27 February 2020) a team of staff from Yeoman Park Academy in Mansfield Woodhouse attended the Autism Professionals Awards 2020 at Birmingham Town Hall, following the first day of the National Autistic Society’s Professional Conference.

The Yeoman Park team had been shortlisted for two awards, emphasising the expertise within the academy. Sharon Savage was included in the shortlist for the individual award in the ‘Achievement an Individual Education Professional’ category with team from the specialist provision ‘The Base’ in the running for the ‘Inspirational Education Provision – secondary and further’ award.

Unfortunately, in both categories the staff from Yeoman Park did not win the main award but were placed in the top three in both – a magnificent achievement that showcases the brilliant work they do for their students.

Sharon says: ‘It was lovely to be recognised for the work we do for the benefit of all our students in The Base and across Yeoman Park. The evening was enjoyable and showcased the great work being done to support autistic learners throughout the country.’

Principal Courtney Hoop said: ‘We are extremely proud to have such amazing staff working for us, and this recognition is truly well deserved – well done!’

Congratulations to everyone involved from all at Diverse Academies.
