Staff and pupils at Redgate Primary Academy are celebrating following the publication of an exceptionally positive Ofsted report, which recognises the school’s highly inclusive environment, ambitious curriculum and unwavering commitment to ensuring every child succeeds. The academy – part of Diverse Academies Trust – welcomed inspectors on 9 June 2026 to be assessed against the new inspection framework.
Redgate Primary Academy was judged to be meeting the ‘strong standard’ in all areas.
Inspectors praised the academy’s nurturing culture from the outset, stating that ‘pupils enjoy attending this highly inclusive school’. The report highlights that pupils ‘feel happy and safe’ and describe staff as ‘helpful’, ‘kind’ and ‘funny’ adding that ‘pupils want to be in school to learn’.
Ofsted praised the academy’s ‘well planned’ curriculum and found that ‘pupils receive highly effective teaching’. Inspectors also recognised that staff have ‘high expectations’ and pupils make ‘substantial progress from their starting points’, ensuring they are ‘extremely well prepared for future learning and life beyond Redgate Primary Academy’.
Principal, Claire Gouthwaite, said: “We are overjoyed that Ofsted recognised us as achieving a ‘strong standard’ in every inspected area. Inspectors highlighted our ambitious curriculum, high-quality teaching and the substantial progress children make from their individual starting points.
“This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff, the support of our families, governors and trust colleagues, and most importantly, the incredible children who make Redgate such a special place to learn and grow. We are proud of what we have achieved together and remain committed to ensuring every child continues to thrive and achieve their full potential.”
Executive Principal, Lucy Spacey, commented: “We are incredibly proud of this recognition. Being judged as meeting the ‘strong standard’ in every area is a wonderful achievement and a clear reflection of dedicated staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils and support from our families.
“We are especially pleased that inspectors recognised our inclusive culture, where children feel happy, safe and eager to learn. Every day, we are committed to ensuring that pupils feel valued, supported and able to achieve their full potential, this report is a powerful endorsement of that work.”
