Mike is a retired company director having worked for several large companies including BAT, Imperial and Norsk Hydro. Following his career in manufacturing he spent some time in the education sector in non-teaching roles.
A school governor for 50 years, including as chair of Retford Oaks Academy, a trustee and past chair of Diverse Academy Trust, he has extensive experience in the education sector.
Mike is chair of Bassetlaw Hospice and served as a local councillor for many years including seven years as leader of Bassetlaw District Council.
