David Vernon

David is director of education for curriculum, teaching and learning, and achievement. His role encompasses working closely with principals, senior leaders and Trust colleagues, leading on the development of an ambitious curriculum, evidence-informed teaching and learning, and strategies that secure strong outcomes for all pupils.

Having worked for Diverse Academies for over 20 years, David is a former principal and executive principal of two academies within the Trust, as well as taking a strategic role in shaping the Diverse Association for Professional Learning – the Diverse Academies’ professional development and training centre. During this time, David developed high-quality training programmes focused on professional knowledge, leadership development and coaching. This experience continues to inform his work in building leadership capacity, supporting school improvement and developing high-performing teams across the Trust.
